Weekly Challenge, 4th June 2018 – #HealthHaiku4th June 2018
This week is Creativity and Wellbeing Week and therefore a great opportunity to celebrate the profound effect participation in the arts and everyday creativity can have on health and wellbeing. To mark this annual week, along with acknowledging 2018 as the 70th anniversary of the NHS, we are teaming up with London Arts in Health Forum to encourage you to…
Write and share haikus about what the NHS means to you. A haiku is a verse form usually composed of three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables. Your haiku could be based on personal experience and the positive impacts. It could also be more centred around the values of the NHS and what it represents in society. Do whatever feels right for you whilst celebrating the NHS and the role creativity can play in everyone’s lives in generating health and happiness.
If you have more time …
Write a short collection of haikus. How do they interact with each other? How do they differ? See what story or image you can build.
What thoughts arose for you? Have these thoughts come up before for you? How can you use creativity more to support your wellbeing?
London Arts in Health Forum works to develop the role of culture in wellbeing and to promote and support arts in health activity across London and nationally.
