Day 28 Postcard for your hometown.
Okay so mine is Leicester and Leicestershire. The pictures for the postcard are the Town Hall And Town Hall Square lion fountain. The town hall square is decorated every year at Christmas, as a child I thought it was magical. The best was when the fountain froze over in the winter. It doesn’t do that anymore. One of the old lanes leading to the Castle near the Cathedral…Richard III and Leicester Plantagenet and Tudor connections. Lady Jane Grey lived nr Bradgate Park, over the footbridge picture you can see the Park and Anstey in the distance. The park is also home to herds of deer including very fey white deer.
We have a Roman history, the Jewry Wall being one of the best preserved Roman sites in Britain.
And the old grammar school building in Market Harborough…one of Leicestershires brilliant Market towns. Melton Mowbray not too far away….pork pies and Stilton cheese. Great tradition in Rugby, Football and Cricket
And view of the fields from my house when it snowed in December.
What’s not to love.
