This is my response to the #64MillionArtists Weekly Challenge for April 9th, which is raising awareness of Parkinson’s. The Parkinson’s Flower is the Cornflower.
I am making what I call my ‘memory’ quilt. The coloured fabrics I am using were gathered from a stash of fabric remnants left from 45 years of sewing projects done by my mother, my two sisters and me.
Yesterday I came across a 1980s-vintage piece of Laura Ashley home furnishing fabric that had a Cornflower as part of its design. I cut a quilt square out of it and have incorporated it into my quilt top.
