The Weekly Challenge, 24th June 2019 – Fly The Flag
“Can you name your human rights? Most of us were never taught them. We don’t know that each of us – every moment of every day – is invisibly protected by them.” Ai WeiWei
To mark the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, artist Ai Weiwei has created a flag to celebrate universal human rights (see below). This week (24th- 30thJune), hundreds of Arts organisations and human rights charities invite you to Fly The Flag for human rights.

What’s going on near you?
This week’s Challenge is to:
Design, create and Fly The Flag for human rights! Be inspired by Ai Weiwei’s design or find your own way to represent what you want to say. Read a summary of the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights here (https://www.amnesty.org.uk/universal-declaration-human-rights-UDHR) and take the opportunity to reflect on what this means to you. Whether your flag is 7-foot-tall, decorated on a cake, knitted in a scarf, or planted in your garden – we want you to celebrate your human rights and Fly The Flag in the best way you can.
Don’t forget to share your creations online at #FlyTheFlag70 to inspire others and spread the word.
