Yes I am… My mother’s daughter.

In a bit of a blur I decided to post this pic and an added Haiku as part of this week’s challenge 64millionartists

My wonderful Mother suddenly died on March 21st. I hadn’t seen her in a just over a year because of this pandemic with me living in England and her in Ireland.
We spoke every day, twice a day to try and keep close in spite of everything going on in the world.
I think I’m still in shock, and heartbroken too. I’m home now in Dublin which is just surreal and her funeral was last Tuesday. This is a photo of us I found and love. She raised me by herself and lived through so many heartaches in life including losing my brother when he was just 13 years old to a drunk driver. She was a fluent Irish speaker being from the Aran Islands (where the aran knitwear comes from) and a talented knitter herself. She loved us so much and made sure we knew it every day. I’m so sorry I couldn’t make it home to see her one more time. I’ll probably never get over that.
Tomorrow I have two Easter cards to open from her that she had sent us weeks ago. ❤️Classic Mam x
