Did someone say….Weekly Challenge time?! This week’s challenge is set by @wednesdayschild_mcr – a not for profit getting people together to ‘make for minds sake’.

Wednesday’s Child believes that our mental health should be a regular topic of conversation for all – not something to talk about only when someone is struggling – but a way to share supportive words and positive coping strategies.

This week’s challenge is a chance to capture some of those kind words, that we often reserve for others.

Write a love letter…to yourself! Find somewhere comfy and let your pen, pencil or keyboard do the talking. Try and focus on your kindest qualities, express pride in yourself and celebrate the brilliant stuff about you. You could write as yourself, or you might like to write from the perspective of a best friend, a pet – or you could even write from the perspective of a treasured object or item of clothing. Your letter can be as silly or as serious as you like, make it colourful, turn it into origami, keep it short or keep on writing – there is no right or wrong way to join in!

If it feels tricky to get started – remember that this letter is just for you. Take your time – you might want to look back over the last year and revisit some fond memories. You could try free writing – start with one kind word to yourself, and see what comes next.
