Day 19 – The recipe challenge – My mum was not a great cook and I don’t think she enjoyed it, but she had four hungry children to feed, so she had no choice. Dinner at home always ended with a pudding, very 70’s fare, tinned fruit, Angels delight, Greens cheesecake (the one that came in a box), but the one for high days and holidays was always Jamaica Glory. The ingredients are beautifully drawn above and the recipe is – cut the ginger cake into six pieces and place in a bowl, add sliced banana on top, open the can of rice pudding and dollop on the top (cold), finish with half a glacé cherry.
