Day 12 of the @64millionartists #TheJanuaryChallenge. Today’s challenge is to fill a shelf with 12 objects that represent things you want to achieve in 2020.
As usual, fast and loose with the rules. I’m a loner Dottie, a rebel. Anyway.
One of the many things I’d like to do is learn to kickflip a skateboard. Back in the mists of time, when I was young and all my joints functioned correctly without making disturbing creaky noises I used to skate quite a bit, but I never nailed the kickflip. I had other tricks like boardslides and shuvits (which I’d also like to get back this year) but I only ever landed a couple of kickflips if that, and then only through blind luck.
So rather than thinking of 11 more things, I decided to draw a 12 frame animation of a kickflip on post-it notes (because why not) and stick it to my skateboard, as a kind of shelf proxy.
So I did. There you go. I cheated a bit by repeating one of the frames because it looks kinda cool too.
