The Weekly Challenge

The Weekly Challenge, 27th September 2021 – Valuing Culture

This week we are reflecting on our creativity through the Covid 19 Pandemic with a challenge from the Centre for Cultural Value.

The Centre for Cultural Value has developed a new community storytelling platform called Valuing Culture, as part of a national research project exploring the impacts of Covid-19 on the cultural industries across the UK. Add your story to a collective understanding of the part culture and creativity has played in our lives over the last 18 months and connect with a creative community.

Tell Your Story:

What are your memories of creativity from the past 18 months, during the pandemic?

Is there a creative activity you have been doing at home with friends, family or within your community? Did you attend any online or offline cultural events? Was it something you had experienced before the pandemic or is it something new?

Capture your creative memory and how it made you feel. If you wanted to tell someone the impact creativity has had on you during the pandemic, how would you show them? It could be through poetry or you could share a photograph, some words or a drawing to illustrate your memory.

If you have more time…

Illustrate more creative memories.

Has the pandemic changed your relationship with creativity in any way? If so, how has it changed?

Share your responses online using the tags #64MillionArtists #TheWeeklyChallenge #ValuingCulture and upload them to the Valuing Culture Platform.
