Weekly Challenge, 23rd April – It’s Good News!23rd April 2018
Over the last few weeks we’ve been working with a fab group of Young Minds Activists to co-devise a creative campaign #WiseUp around mental health in schools. As part of one of our workshop activities they envisioned and drew their interpretation of the ‘positive school of the future’, creating a wonderful panoramic wall drawing. Using this positive thinking and creative energy, they came up with a great idea for a challenge to set. They will be partaking but we’d like you to join in too…
Reframe a media article and make it positive. Can you highlight any promising information and emphasise it? Or mix up the headline to change the perspective? If there isn’t much positivity to work with, you could use black out poetry (black out most of the text but leave out certain words to formulate a poem/creative sentence) to shift the mood. Or just have fun with what you have in front of you. Play, adapt, build on the words you find and creatively share them with us.
If you have more time …
Seeing your article through your positive lens, rewrite a whole paragraph. Shift the narrative and make it your own!
How easy or hard was it to reimagine your article? Did you struggle to find positivity or was it there all along? How did you feel about your new article? Did you in fact feel more positive afterwards?
Share a before and after or just the after! Share the words or display them in a creative way. Tag #64MillionArtists & #WiseUp on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
