The Weekly Challenge, 3rd June 2019 – Eye-Spy Nature3rd June 2019
Spring has sprung and Summer is singing! Nature is blooming, buzzing, humming and growing all around us and this week’s Challenge invites you to celebrate and capture the little things that create the bigger picture. At a turning point in history – with climate change and sustainability at the forefront of global conversations – what would we miss if it wasn’t around? Global warming is likely to be the biggest cause of species extinction and change in environment in this century. What little things do we take for granted in nature at this moment in time? Artist and Photographer Su Fahy challenges you to get creative, and acknowledge ‘It’s up to us’ to protect, preserve and nurture nature.
Eye-Spy…nature! Take a good look around you. Look at all of the small things – the insects, birds, leaves, plants, spiders’ webs, raindrops – and document them to capture this moment of time. What is around you? What are the micro aspects of nature that work together to form thriving eco-systems? Get creative! Use drawing, collage, stories, poetry, photographs and video to create an eye-spy catalogue of the world around you.
If you have more time …
