The Weekly Challenge

The Weekly Challenge, 28th October 2019 – Weather or Not

“The remnants of summer warmth battle it out with the lurking beginnings of winter – and, where the two mix, the weather turns pretty lively.”  Liam Dutton

Autumn is here and has brought with it a fresh colour pallette of reds, oranges, greens and golds all around us. We’re not sure whether to wear shorts or thermals, raincoats or flip flops, and we have left our umbrellas at home too many times. This week’s challenge is set by crafter Angie Safford, who has been inspired by the weather to get outside, and creative.

Capture the weather today. What can you see outside your window? What do you feel when you step outside? You could draw, paint, photograph, collage, use leaves, conkers, squelchy mud – what is the weather like in your corner of the world? Is there a tiny cloud, bright sunshine, a strange tornado? Get creative, it’s over to you!

If you have more time …
Keep a weather diary. Repeat this exercise for 5 minutes each day of the week. How quickly does the weather change near you?

Think

How does the weather make you feel? What does Autumn remind you of, or make you think about?
