23rd January 2018 – Day Twenty Three – Blackout Poetry23rd January 2018
Welcome to day 23. Get out your felt tips, paints, sharpies or even cellotape. It’s black out poetry time.
First find some text, maybe from an old book, a newspaper, or even a letter (this can be digital too). Now the fun part… black out most of the text but leave out certain words from certain lines to formulate a poem/creative sentence when you read as a page.
Was there a pattern in the words that you didn’t black out? Did you pick them randomly or decide beforehand?
Share your poetry
IF YOU HAVE MORE TIME
Start again, this time black out everything apart from every 10th word on the page. See what sentence that creates!
