That guy...He was there but was he? She'd tried to draw him. She'd tried, she'd wanted to. She'd started drawing as fast as she could but he'd moved, and she wasn't able to hit pause in real life. A few days later, she watched a video, she liked it. She hit pause and drew him. She thought she was done. When she finally looked down, she realized she'd forgotten an eye. I need to work on that -she thought- remembering eyes is a must! #64MillionArtists #TheJanuaryChallenge #storytime #continuousline #dibujando #lineacontinua #blindcontourdrawing 3016 - Story Time. Something #creative everyday Some days, with no obvious trigger, go dark. However you manage to work your way through them, I reckon that the skill to learn is to keep faith that the clouds will clear. This evening I’m attempting to draw my way out of a cloudy spot. Tomorrow morning I’d better get out for a walk, whatever the weather. Day 16 of #TheJanuaryChallenge #64MillionArtists #TheJanuaryChallenge #64millionartists day 16: storytime Rise of the machines The library was closing for the evening, the people had nearly all gone, apart from a few stragglers hidden behind their screens, frantically Facebooking before the machines shut down at 7.55pm. In the corner beside the desk, the photocopier occupied a substantial space, revelling in its specialised, superior role, the ability to scan and email as well as photocopy, and had recently decided to stop working at 5pm to the frustration of the evening staff.... Another 'trusting your instincts' led response to today's challenge. Challenges build my trust that you can come up with something. They opening up my observation skills so I'm looking at the world in a slightly different way. If I hold the prompt lightly then I find something will come up during that day that can be done for it. Responses from this place are generally less elaborate than the ones that I really ponder. Day 16 #TheJanuaryChallenge #64MillionArtists Story Time I've been cold, so cold, since you left me behind this morning, just thrown aside without a thought. Abandoned, I've waited, patiently, for your return, no hope of warmth. And finally, you return, seek me out. I hear the bubble & hiss as the water boils, the anticipation, and then the warmth fills me again. Ready once more to offer you comfort & solace, soothe aching muscles, and guide you into a peaceful night's sleep. I am Tiger, faithful servant (and hot water bottle). I ended up doing 2 stories - I found it relatively easy to come up with something having been given a prompt - one about meeting myself, which was interesting to do & the other a v short tale based on the boat task - about the little felt cat I placed in my ‘found’ boat, which is still on the shelf above my kitchen sink. Its humorous (I think?) - but I couldn’t resist also making a point that sometimes life is just not what you dream of! I studied the container. Strange to believe something so everyday could become such a hot topic! Old enough to recall the days before the container became king and everyone marvelled at how wonderful convenient, practical way we could complete our shopping. As time has passed we've been seduced evermore by additional wrapping of our produce. More convenience more wrappings, layers, sleeves surrounding containers. Before we realise we're drowning in the abandoned waste. Hidden from our eyes , whisked away until we remember, yes we have stumbled on it when it dug into our bare feet on the beach in the summer! And so here I am. Back at the washing up bowl rinsing out the plastic container, this object of distain. How did we manage!!! Paper bags, tissue paper, cardboard boxes & punnets. Brown paper packages tied up with string, these are a few of my favourite things. Perhaps this may make a trip to the local butcher, baker and grocer an even more attractive proposition! Haircuts by children... let the breads loose on my head with the "hair tatoo" clippers. @64millionartists #thejanuarychallenge day 11 "Try Something new" #64millionartists #hairart #hairartist #haircut #hairtatoo #hairsculpture #nohairdontcare #baldisbeautiful #alopecia #alopiciatales #plentyuptop #alopeciaawareness #folkart #contemporaryfolkart #ladykitt #craft #contemporarycraft #craftivism #baldgirls #baldqueen #haircutsbychildren #alternativefashion #alternativehair #buzzcut @64M_Artists #TheJanuaryChallenge an object about which to tell a story. A peasent fell in love with a Lord, she enjoyed adventures and like a bird liked to be free but have a safe nest to come home too. He liked to watch the pennies and stay in their castle and avoid making any adult decisions. He stopped her having adventures and the castle became a cage. Naturally it didn't work and the Lord left the peasent in the castle and returned to his royal family. To begin with the peasent was heartbroken, but with her peasent friends she started having adventures again. She took up new hobbies and became an archer, she made new friends and met a fellow archer, her soul mate, and fell in love all over again, deeper and deeper. The archer loved her free spirit and they went on lots of adventures and even if he didn't want to share the adventure, he let her spread her wings and kept the nest safe for her to come to. And they lived happily ever after. X Storytime! #64MillionArtists #TheJanuaryChallenge
