#64millionartists #thejanuarychallenge #day6 #soundtrackoftheday #dayoff #lazyday @64millionartists Esther, a member of the Hemel Hempstead Library team chose the album Aims by Vienna Teng as her music of choice today. Esther said:"The whole album is fantastic but ‘Level Up’ in particular pulls you along in an urgent, energetic way; just what’s required to lift the spirits on a cold January day like today!" #thejanuarychallenge #day6 The Bare Necessities from the Jungle Book is my soundtrack to the day.. played it this morning and had a little dance and singalong in bed. We had it as the congregational song at our wedding a few months ago and as well as bringing back happy memories, it is also a good joyful reminder about the important things in life! Day 6 of The January challenge. Pick a track or an album. My fave album ever. #thejanuarychallenge #64millionartists Day 5 of The January challenge. Photos of life today to put in a time capsule. #thejanuarychallenge #64millionartists #thejanuarychallenge #64millionartists Sound track of my life #thejanuarychallenge #thejanuarychallenge D A Y 6 - Soundtrack of my day . . . Saturday is quite often playlist challenge day in our house anyway so this one’s easy. We pick a theme and then create a playlist based on that theme. Today’s is ‘Songs from TV and film’. Bonus points if you get them all (swipe for close-up). . . . #64millionartists #thatsmyjam #playlistchallenge #saturdaymorning #soundtrackofmyday #saturdaysoundtrack #sonos Day 6 - Soundtrack of my day #TheJanuaryChallenge @64M_Artists is Life on Mars by the fabulous David Bowie. I love singing and have a very eclectic music taste but am just watching the Box set of ‘Life on Mars’ https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=v--IqqusnNQ Photo of a Design by @jon_attfield #thejanuarychallenge #64millionartists @64millionartists today is about the soundtrack to my day. How impossible! How to choose? Which genre? Which time of my life? What mood am I in? Too many decisions! But I’ve gone with #Yes my beloved Yes. This is On The Silent Wings of Freedom but I could have chosen so many. This minute is the introduction to that 8 minutes of music and my inspiration to learn to play the drums (and my disillusioned realisation that I should give up ) Yes was my brothers fault (@thetitanicsailsatdawn it’s all down to you) I couldn’t avoid this growing up, it was like being inoculated. But I couldn’t be happier. In later years when I needed a refuge, I found it with Yes (and ELP, Genesis, Pink Floyd, some others, but mostly Yes) Jon Anderson’s voice is so unusual but it works for me. Helps that he is from Accrington where I lived as a child too. That accent apparent in his weird vocals is so evocative of my childhood. He’s never lost his accent even after years in America. His lyrics are insane, another reason I love Yes. The seemingly insane lyrics and tunes work really well with my weird personality! From Mable Greer’s Toyshop, The Warriors to Yes there are years and years worth of fabulous, crazy, insane songs that fill a big corner of my life. Not many days pass before I reach for a Yes album. Try Awaken (there is a fabulous live version of this with an Icelandic orchestra on YouTube) Roundabout, And You and I, Close to the Edge, too many classics to list here, but some explosive covers of Simon and Garfunkel’s America, the Beatles Every Little Thing even Something’s Coming from Westside Story - covers that you wouldn’t recognise as being anything to do with the original but so incredibly great! Ahhh, when the day of reckoning comes just play Yes all day long on repeat and it will be like I’m still there. This post is for Eric who is perhaps the only one who will understand a single word of it. If this January Challenge is to get us thinking, well, you’ve done that today. It’s a good job I have no near neighbours because the volume is ramped right up now and Yes all the way today! Oh! And Roger Dean’s album artwork - perfect! A soundtrack for today at Millennium Library? ...mh... wish Queen had released an album called A Day at the Library... We'll go with A Night at the Opera, then. #64MillionArtists #TheJanuaryChallenge (Is this the real life...) @DrBrianMay Taking part in this year's @64millionartists January Challenge. Day 6: Soundtrack to your day. 10 second snippets of what I anticipate will be the soundtrack to my day: @bbcradio4 (because it's a constant); We Three Kings sung by @kingscollegechoir (because it's Epiphany and I am off carolling @geffryemuseum with @designbyjenkins) and finally Steveie Wonder's rendition of Happy Birthday (because I am off to raise a glass to 30 years of @trudyvictoria - Happy Birthday my dear! ✨ ). What a horrible sound clash this would be if you played them all at once...
