My social media self. I think we all wear masks online and keep much of ourselves in the shadows - and have different ones for different forums. I have 2 main social media faces - though they tend to overlap - the Crystal Palace FC BBS and Facebook (where the majority of my friends are also fellow Palace fans!) Mask made out of photo of my mouse mat. Guardian Angel you offer to be a pint of dreaming you have stargazer qualities you are a kind of blue sky thinker #64millionartists #angelofthenorth #hestercombe #odyssianlandscapes #blueskythinking I'we chosen my favourite Gormley sculpture, which like many of his I see as Everyman rather than an angel. Sound II In the silent crypt He stands where water once flowed. Time passes slowly. Guardian Angel Weekly Challenge, 19th March 2018 - Guardian Angel . Last month we introduced the #Angel20 programme in partnership with Gateshead Council's Culture Team and saw such brilliant Angel of the North birthday cards that contributed to a fantastic 20th celebration. Moving into this month's challenge, we'd like you to think about the Angel of the North as a symbol and focus of hope and protection, considering its grandeur and omnipresence. We’d like these thoughts to inspire you to… . Write a poem about a guardian angel or your angel. What or who gives you comfort and guidance? Maybe protection and optimism too. This could be a family member, a friend or it could be a spiritual being. It could also be more of a symbol, an object or a thought/memory - whatever you'd like to focus on this week. . If you have more time ... Draw a representation of your angel to go alongside your poem. This could be an angel as we know it or more of an abstract response. . Think How did writing about your angel make you feel? What did you reflect on? Did it remind you of anything? . Share Share your angel poems with us and the team at Gateshead Council on Twitter @GMBCouncil and Facebook @gatesheadcouncil. You can tag #64MillionArtists and #Angel20 and share with us on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram. Weekly Challenge, 19th March 2018 - Guardian Angel . My Online Self. Have been thinking about this on and off all week and have finally 'analysed' (not very scientifically!) my recent profile and cover photos. Theatre turns up a lot. As does travel. As I'm often at my happiest when working on productions and/or travelling (sometimes both together), this isn't surprising. I was interested to notice the distant, shadowed and action shots of me - I think I'm (subconsciously?) going for some level of privacy - or maybe I very rarely find a solo close-up of me that I'm happy with - and even more rarely one I've posed for! Finally, I realised how instrumental Ben is to my online presentation as he has taken lots of the theatre shots and designed the posters I use as profile/cover in run up to shows. Weekly Challenge - My Online Self. I ignore the wrinkles, don't dwell on grumpy days and pretend the messy house doesn't exist but the rest is true. I try to share the things that I enjoy and appreciate from a flower to a new pair of shoes or a great exhibition, being grateful and enjoying every day is important to me. Day 16- year of the dog not my design though copied from a colouring page Day 16: year of the dog This monkey's showing you his private bits - make a mask. #theweeklychallenge #64millionartists #art #conceptualart #performanceart #monkeyingaround Day 16: Year of the dog Day 16: Year of the Dog Weekly Challenge - your online self Trawling through the FAKE NEWS Weekly challenge, my online self. My online self has been mostly to do with my craft and Rugby. I tend to keep other stuff quiet, mainly because I if in real life if I don't know someone that is exactly what I would do until I knew them better. Online I may never know people better, I don't want to say something that upsets them and I don't want to have to think too deeply about their thoughts or opinions that may be upsetting for me. So a small wall. I don't draw but the photo is the face I present to the online world. My business Blue Owl Crafts (BlueOwlCraftsUK on Etsy) My Tigers Rugby supporting self....try to capture the action and also I do post on Tigers fb page......gently. And if I find something I like on my daily walk like this butterfly I post it on Instagram, which is my business account, but a nice picture is a nice picture Day 76 Lost Sock -Found Sock @melaniejanestephens #2O18challenge #csadaily18 #asketchaday #64millionartists #documentinglife #domesticity #mundane #householdobjects #objects #linedrawing #penandink #drawingart #creative2018 #instadraw #blackandwhite #illustrationgram #documenting #illustragram #quirky I can't draw so I did this to represent what I do online. I do history, mentoring, tutoring, chatting, publishing and manage four Facebook pages and 2 Twitter accounts. There is also LinkedIn and Instagram but I'm less active on those! My friends, I regularly chat with are in China, Hong Kong and California as well as the United Kingdom.I also have friends in India and Poland who I chat with or email. I learn so much online from my friends. Week 5: this week my online self was inspired by true events! What do you think people see when looking at you and your life online? I'm pretty sure this is what people who only know me through the internet think I'm about. Please do comment if you think I've got something wrong. #64MillionArtists #WeeklyChallenge Draw your online self. What do you think people see when looking at you and your life online? I'm pretty sure this is what people who only know me through the internet think I'm about. Please do comment if you think I've got something wrong. I asked my 7 year old granddaughter what she'd like to look like online she said stylish and have a dog and make videos telling people how to live lol and she drew this Task - draw your online self. Inspiration just hit so I quickly drew this. I didn't have a rubber to hand so couldn't be a perfectionist like I usually am. I'll explain my drawing in a comment so you can have a look at it first. #64millionartist so yesterday i posted my on line personna and my life and said i would draw them lol so here they are..first one is my life 2nd one is me online being me with no stress from number 1 ...it was difficult to see me in such different ways I am going to change some of my life ways to be more like my online character I kinda like her... 64MillionArtists Weekly Challenge task: Draw a picture to describe my online behaviour...Most of what I post on Facebook is quotes to describe my mood or sum up that day's life-lessons...Also, I use Facebook as a way of keeping in touch with friends I don't see face-to-face very often. Finally, if something significant has happened during my day, I use Facebook as an online diary, or a way of off-loading to my friends. N.B. All my Facebook friends are people I know in real life, and all my closest friends are on Facebook. In terms of my drawing, this is the first time I've used my laptop's 'Paint' software, so my final picture appeared as both magic and a surprise! :) Week 6 Draw your online self What a challenge - hopeless at drawing so this is my best attempt. I can explain better in words. I’m more reserved and considered on social media than life and certainly not as outspoken. But having said that I only really air my views so vociferously with family, friends, at work, oh and when I shout at the telly. My work educates me about scams and data protection and we hear about identity theft on the news so I am wary about sharing information. So I tend to post after the event, rather than ‘checking in’ and rarely include photos of people. But I am under no illusion - if someone wanted to profile me I’m sure they could! In a previous life I worked in IT and I know how useful data is to companies. Even just looking at a website enables them to target products and services to you, but it is so much more than that! And as for buying, selling and giving on line - I keep this to a minimum. I much prefer to go shopping, donate my no longer used stuff to someone who wants it and put money in a charity box. I started using Facebook just over a year ago and I think it’s a great way to keep connected with friends, sharing jokes and encountering the unexpected including 64ma, new friends and holiday destinations. I think I gave it 8.5 out of 10. Marked it down because of the outrageous comments some make ! But I choose to ignore things I don’t like :) Day 72 Couldn’t think what to draw to drew my watercolours #2O18challenge #csadaily18 #asketchaday #64millionartists #documentinglife #domesticity #mundane #householdobjects #objects #linedrawing #penandink #drawingart #creative2018 #instadraw #quirkystyle #illustrationgram #documenting #illustragram Day 15: 1st thing you thought of when you woke up Now know I can’t draw these Not sure where to put this. So I'll put it here! Lol :-) The sky is beginning to brighten My heart is beginning to lighten New flowers bring smiles to faces Young lambs explore new places Eggs laid in tidy new nests Nearly time to cast off your vests! It's Spring! Spring! Spring! ⛅ Draw myself online. #theweeklychallenge #64millionartists Day 14-Happiness Drawing this made me happy Day 72 I am crocheting so many granny squares at the moment I have drawn another one using coloured pens. #2O18challenge #csadaily18 #asketchaday #64millionartists #documentinglife #domesticity #mundane #householdobjects #objects #linedrawing #penandink #drawingart #creative2018 #instadraw #illustrationgram #documenting #illustragram #64millionartist weekly challenge i began to write words down on two sheets of paper the first one is my daily life filled with emotions hard work worries stress happiness kids etc... but for along time since my hubby died i have been lonely wanting changes..which i am in the process of doing The 2nd photo is my online life where i am me i use my skills i meet people i can share intressts with etc I think the real me is online and the me that walks around is a shadow of that.... some of it is due to great loss first my daughter and 2 years later my husband so have been in a circle of grief and for a while ..the Internet lets me do things i can't in my life for example meet artists share my passions ..my poetry my imagination....so grateful to belong to groups like this one
